10th post.
Whew. It has been so busy these past few days. What with all the paperwork and deadlines. I'm much behind on meeting minutes at the Science Office, and one for the Math Office. There are 2 batches of bluebooks that need checking. I had wanted to finalize my students' class standing which will show their partial scores. Good thing not many of them are very needy on this information for the dropping season which ended yesterday. It's already 8 o'clock on a Friday night, I can't believe I'm still working. Looks like my weekend will be sorta lonely this time, aside frmo all the work I need to catch up on, I haven't got any money.

Mama bought me a Nokia 6610 the other day by the way, and it's great. I finally have a phone that works. My old phone is still working, and I still have it on standby in case anyone contacts me. I need to figure out what to do with that phone still, since its SMS still works although audio is busted. Maybe papa can find it useful, have it fixed or something. I still can't make the MMS to work, althought GPRS enables me to browse the internet now. Really cool. Ciao for now.

9th post.
Yesterday was the University Scholars Recognition at the UP Film Center. Ajay came with me and both papa and mama came to see me come onstage to receive the certificate of achievement. There was a funny incident with Ate Lulu and my mom, anyway, it's too long to tell so I guess I'll leave that to Ajay's memory to remember. After the ceremonies, us four ate at Chocolate Kiss Cafe at the Bahay ng Alumni, and papa went to work whilst mama, Ajay and I went to Greenhills Virramall. We brought mama to Makati and we ate at Yoshinoya before we set her off at the shuttle service to Pacita. Ajay brought me back to the Lin House. I played some Final Fantasy X before going to sleep at 11 p.m. So far I've reached the Zanarkand ruins, and I think I'm up to fight Yunalesca next. I'm not sure though. Anyway, it's almost lunchbreak here, I have to meet Louie and Ajay at the cafeteria. Louie did both of us a favor yesterday taking charge of our classes. Ciao for now.

8th post.

Oops, I have to hurry this up 'coz Ajay's picking me up in a few minutes. We had an Executive Staff meeting which ended a 3-quarters of an hour ago, took more than 2 hours, considering so much to talk about for the College Executive Board meeting tomorrow. I have an examination to finish writing tonight, will be working on it later with Rex and Ajay after Rex's algebra class with Dr. Felix. I browsed for Texas Universities after the meeting earlier, and I got to find several spots for research and lecturer positions in the UT Austin and UT Dallas. So it all depends now on two things: whether Mom takes the job in Texas, and whether I finish my thesis October this year. I'm restarting my paper obviously, since I could not extend my technical report under Dr. Ric, I have to redo under my new adviser Dr. M with a fresh topic about the boundary layer theory. Ok, that's it for now. 'Til tomorrow.
7th post.

It's Monday, wow, quite a long time since I last posted. Valentine's Day came and went quickly. Not much to speak for, except for Punchline Comedy Bar. Ajay had a couple of beers while I had a teeny weeny serving of Bailey's. And the afternoon Tekken 4 Tournament, where Xiaoyu is no match for Steve. Darn final stage after we came home from the bar, I couldn't beat it! Oh and we went to the University Fair on Friday night, obviously underestimating the size of the crowd on a Valentine concert night. We stayed outside the fair grounds on the side of Malcolm Hall, lied on our backs and watched the cirro-cumulus clouds sweep by, the moon and stars peeking once in a while. And three chocolate bars is not nothing!

I did not go home to Laguna this weekend, but I did call home from the SC phonebooth several times yesterday morning, afternoon and evening. I spent sometime in the afternoon (after lunch until about 4 p.m.) at SM North Edsa, mooning over the plant and flower exhibit at the lobby. I wanted so much to buy a gladiola bush! Bought myself a pair of pants and a dress for next week's scholars' recognition program. Oops, have to sign out for now, Ma'am Cayen is asking for me. Tomorrow then. Ciao.

6th post.
Had a meeting with Ma'am Cayen, Dr. Cesar V and Benny about the CS Undergraduate database. Hopefully, we can have it up and running before June. Ate Lulu gave us a bunch of pillows and heart adornments for Valentine's tomorrow. Guess I'll log more tomorrow, it's sort of crazy here right now.

5th post.
Slept at the Math office last night. Woke bright and early at 6 a.m., in anticipation of Dr. M's exam at 8:30 a.m. Come 8:30 a.m., we were waiting for him to arrive at the guard's post, only to be told that our examination will be a week-long effort! Not that I'm ungrateful, since I could really use the relief from time constraints. Had big breakfast at McDonald's, Rex drove Ric's Civic. We had a mini-meeting at Ric's office because he needed to reschedule our classes. I'll be missing four class meetings. I guess Ric trusts me enough to give up some listening time for his lectures. This new female security guard acts so strangely, holding on to Mia's parcel for dear life. Which reminds me, I need to tell Mia that Adj needs her to proctor for Liezl's examination on Saturday. Ric and I agreed that I need to revise my thesis topic. He was able to talk with Dr. M an hour ago, Dr. M seems enthusiastic about it. Maan's going to inherit my topic. That's it for now, I need to be at the CS soon, lunch first with Ajay at the Math Office.

4th post.

The West rules! I was screaming at home last night watching the replay of the NBA All-Star replay at the local channel. I realize I've missed watching the NBA faithfully. Last time I did was about 7 years ago now, when the Knicks did rule. I had my favorites like Reggie Miller, Penny Hardaway and Tony Kukoc. Eh, I ddnt have much of favorite players in New York but I rooted for them vs. the Rockets in the finals then. Of course, who wouldn't love MJ. He's almost 40 years old now, but he still looks great! Kobe can be better than him now in my opinion, and with MJ retiring, Kobe's efforts can be better realized. T-Mac grows stronger than ever too. Oh there are so many good players now!

Final Exam for Dr. M's half of our course in Mathematical Modelling is tomorrow! I'm not done reading through Dr. M's notes... Wonder how Ric would give his finals for his part of the course. Ric was here this morning and we talked a little. He was hungry and ate a muffin on my desk. He was worried over the poster, I guess the work is cramping up for him. Never seen him distraught like that. He wanted peace, away from his own office and wrote down his notes for DE class on my desk. Poor guy. I ate lunch with Ajay and Rex. Rex and I bought some tarts at the Geology building. Tasty!
Oh I forgot to log yesterday, Ric was charming in a traditional barong for the ceremonies yesterday at the College of Science, seeming to disappear from under his long sleeves (LOL). Ajay looked good in his maroon polo, and I fell guilty late that afternoon not remembering that I gave him that shirt couple of years ago (was it?). Truthfully I still can't recall that I did. He seemed upset that I had already forgotten about that.

3rd post.
TGIF! It's the last class I have to teach.. in about 15 minutes. Had a splitting headache since early this morning, but thankfully it's gone now. I'm going home to Laguna later this afternoon, hopefully the traffic won't be so horrible. See you Monday.

2nd post.
Well, I'm almost done with 2nd part of Math 11 topics. Two meetings left until their next exam. I spent much time on roots and zeros today, the students were quite responsive. Hopefully, they'll do better on this exam. This morning, I watched (and rewatched) The Fellowship. I could not help but pick up my brother's copy of the Silmarillion on my way out for 10 am class. I can't get those elven names out of my head. Ajay and I will be going out this afternoon, most likely to see The Hero. I could use the time out from work. There's still so much to be done. I passed by the CS office to drop off the earphones I needed for the tapes I was going to listen to. They got rid of the divider from my side of the office so you can see my desk from outside the office already. Made the place look bigger, although I hope it's only temporary. It makes me uneasy seing passersby while I work there. I went into sugar shock last night on account of devouring a third of a jar of Baguio choco flakes. I fell asleep after some chatting with Mama through SMS. I oughta get home to Laguna tomorrow afternoon, Mama says she needs help to prepare for her exam at the US Embassy on Saturday. Papa says he wants to buy me a new phone on Saturday afternoon, I wonder if I should give in or not. Mama says Kuya is sick right now, I should've bought him a jacket in Baguio, I guess I was too worried it won't fit. Apparently he gets cold at his workplace and Mama blames the icy water when he takes showers at home. Poor Kuya. I was sick the past days too, though I was more worried about how Ajay had been feeling in Baguio on our last night there that I didn't really bother much for myself. Which reminds me, I'm wearing the blue stone amulet I bought at the Camp, but I'm hiding it behind my collar today, so no one has seen it I'm sure. It feels cold against the skin. I think it's really cool though. Oh and Sheryll had sent through email the video clips she took of our Baguio trip, maybe it can be uploaded somewhere on the net. I want a new digital camera! [sigh] I really should not have relied too much on the compensation from Info-Asia. Made me lose balance on the budget.

It's my first log here! It's a wednesday right now, and I'm off work. Well, supposedly off, but I really have to get things done at the CS office. Ajay, Rex and I just finished writing an exam for Dr. M. We weren't able to finish it, but we turned it in anyway. Ric took over Dr. M's class today, and started the discussions on Smart Materials. It sort of looks okay, although it looks highly specialized than the models Dr. M had presented. What Dr. M taught was easy to vary and customize according to conditions of fluid flow. I wonder how Ric's part works. Rex has had a good headstart, this being his thesis topic, aside from the fact that Ric was his thesis adviser, and technically co-author. I hope we turn out well in this half. Gah, an exam under Dr. M's part next week!
